In the World of a Fool's Imagination by Yko Umadhay III elucidates the dangers that the digital age can inflict not only upon our cultural identity but most especially towards our state of mental being. In this exhibition, the artist presents a fictitious world inhabited by strange creatures, mostly presented as an amalgamation of surreal forms. These dreamlike beings are reinterpreted in a pop surrealist style that reclines toward the concept of aesthetic overload and digital burnout. The artist has been deeply inspired with how the computers, cellphones, and social media outlets have consumed and hypnotized us and turned us into mindless zombies stuck in a recurring labyrinth of pleasure and self-exhaustion.
