Exposing more than the usual graphic device on purpose, Alex Ordoyo’s first solo exhibition, Sibol, deeply incorporates contemporary visual language employing old school aesthetics with illustrative craft on textured canvases. His themes employ as well as dwells on his enchantment with the environment. His body of works revolves around nature and its creation and even espousing on its eventual degradation—rooted in identity and memory—the response is blatantly visual close to detailed intimation.
Award winning artist Alex Ordoyo lives among his lush subjects in the outskirts of Sta. Barbara in Iloilo. Every day he wakes up to its cool clime amidst the sight of shrubbery vegetation and sprouting wildflowers surrounding him and his family communing with Mother Nature.
