Splinters, despite their potentially harmful nature to our bodies are usually something that we don't notice until we are presented with visible effects like tetanus contractions or more pronounced signs of an infection. Because they are small and are usually made of organic matter, these slivers slowly bury themselves deep into our bodies unnoticed.
