Unburden

August 27 to September 20, 2022

This exhibition features works that express a visual dialogue on one's inner self and how it interacts with its environment to create a vortex of spiritual healing. It's all about letting go and freeing ourselves from all the emotional burden that has been a part of our daily lives. Art has always been instrumental in the healing process since it forces us to weave a connection between our heart, mind, and body. It is the subtle language of the soul that helps us voice out all our emotions, be it good or bad, known or unknown. Art casts a shadow version of ourselves in where we can freely mold an image and fill it with our deepest memories and most beautiful feelings. This is where we unload everything in order to rejuvenate our souls and like a raging whirlpool, it sucks everything as we are poetically reborn into a new being.

This collection of works have all that in common, in a way that they rely on the unburdening of the self to stimulate a process of regeneration. Angels that embody holiness and the gift of flight, figures that speak with the wind, mystical tools that communicate with the divine, and bodies that continuously exhume themselves from their heavy marble casts; This exhibition is basically a curated gathering of artworks that question our relationship with the world and everything beyond it. These are imageries that materialize with the transformation of one's state of being, leaving all unnecessary things behind, and emerging as a newly replenished version of the self.
