Exhibits 2023

Bayluhanay is a term in Hiligaynon meaning “exchange” or “palitan.” It symbolizes the essence of a cultural program initiated by Alfredo Esquillo and Macouy Gonzales in 2018, that aimed to gather artists from Iloilo to be re/presented more in Metro Manila and vice-versa.

Sinasalamin ng mga likha nina Raul at Chong ang kanilang pamumuhay, hindi lamang sa materyales kundi maging sa pagbuo ng mga imahen at paglalapat ng mga kuwento sa bawat representasyon.

Young, sincere and driven, the new batch of Tuklas grantees, Ace Navarro, Andres Catig, Bry Barrios, Den Pascual, Jack De Castro, Melvin Pollero, Renwil Portodo, and Zeelah Aquilizan, point out current social ills because they see themselves in charge of the present; as they are also in the momentum of being in-charge, advancing the enrichment of the quality of life where art has more sense than mere object-fetish and plain commodity.

In Threaded Stillness, Steven Natal makes sense of the world around him through solemn gestures of painted images. He reassembles disconnected splinters of still-life paintings into wall-bound installations and adorns them with mundane, everyday objects like discarded wooden stair railings. This results in an interwoven nexus of silent pictures that plunges its viewers into the quiet state of being caught inside a dream.

In her new series of works, Bahay-bahayan, Ianna Engaño turns clay into artistic and tangible musings of home. Central to her work is the ‘barong-barong,’ that speak of so many layers both literal and figurative.

Orland Espinosa's latest body of work, "Beyond Senses", explores the subliminal ghosts that lurk in the shadows of the human creative state. Our five senses are the main mediums that help us curate the malleable parts of our inner selves, as they are the pathways through which we allow things to enter us and become parts of our own.

Influenced by a roving circus that regularly visits their hometown, for his first solo exhibition at the Eskinita Art Farm, Salamangka by Tuklas mentee Joen Sudlon has visually brought back storytelling in understanding the ongoing narrative of our dysfunctional nation.

In Abril Valdemoro's perspective, the term pakyawan or Kuridas in the Masbateño language carries a different meaning. Kuridas covers a broad scope, encompassing everything.

We pay tribute to the life and work of the late Filipino sculptor and Tuklas 2018 grantee, Dennis Jimenez, with an exhibit of his remarkable pieces at Eskinita Art Farm. Jimenez was an outsider artist who championed traditional sculpting methods while addressing contemporary realities surrounding society through his narrative figuration.

We are deeply honored to host this exhibit and to celebrate the legacy of such a talented artist.

Jayme Lucas, Tuklas 2021 grantee and MADE 2019 grand prize winner, holds her 1st solo exhibit at Eskinita Art Farm.

The exhibition Este Teka is a moving testament to the artist's inarguable technical skill and an unquenchable thirst for adventures in art.

Elayda freely gives visual cues as tools to question what the artist reveals, what we see, who or what the gaze owns, and how visual culture evolves with the changing of the times.

Comets are heavenly bodies that orbit around the sun, but unlike asteroids that are rocky, airless, and sometimes have their own satellites, comets are composed of very compact ice and dust. The nucleus of a comet is said to be very condensed ice forms that when it gets close to our galaxy’s sun, the dusts and ice layers evaporate. Hence, the formation of a tail. This tail is a visible remnant of motion. Mossy’s solo show meditates on this as it reflects his life processes.

Sicam’s works mirror an existential aesthetic of his commentary toward society. His works function like windows. The viewer is given a peek of what’s on the other side; a contained mirror universe in where strange humanoid creatures dwell, with appearances almost resembling morsels of a half-remembered dream.
